The FORE EIM UNIT printboard was corroded. The partnr on the old EIM unit in my boat was 1447598 (In the 2003 part catalog the pn states:1718629). I ordered a new EIM for a 300 2003 model.
Partnr on new EIM was 1810624. When asked why, the answer was that the new EIM I got was a newer version, and should work fine in my boat (looks exactly like the old).

When plugged in, and power switched on to the EIM, all the LEDs on the switchpads blinks. But nothing else happens when trying to operate the switchpads.

So my question:
Do I have the right EIM?
And if not, is it possible to get the right EIM for the switchpads. Or do I maybe need new switchpads to match the new EIM?

(For information the partnr on the switchpads are: left: 1606581 and right: 1606573.)

-Dont want to use time to find out if the switchpanels sends signals to the EIM unit, or any other electrical malfunctions before I'm sertain the units actually is a match.

PS! Tried a year now to get the local supplier, and SeaRay importer to come up with an answer, nothing yet :smt013
So hoping someone in here can shed some light on my problem.

Have a Sundancer300 -03.

I had a single circuit on my FWD EIM go bad (the one for my white anchor light) and tried to research EIMs for replacement. It turns out, for a single circuit, I thought it was cost prohibitive, and the dealer wasn't even sure they could get an EIM anyway. I even attempted to get EIM information from the manufacturer, to no avail. Did your entire EIM go bad or just a single circuit? If it is just a single circuit, you may want to just retire the single circuit, bypassing the EIM. That's what I did.

when my EIM went bad because of lightning strike it looked a little like corrosion.

I got a new replacement from someone on this board. I've been worried about this design and have talked with a boater electrical engineer I know. His company makes power transformers. He said he would be able to repair the old one. Since these things don't appear to be made any longer and seem to be in limited supply. I am going to get my old one fixed as a backup.

One plastic top over one of the automatic fuse was gone. Moisture had free access to the printboard. So print is totaly corroded, and no chance to fix.
I did get a new EIM from the SeaRay system, but as stated in first post it did not work

Now I finaly got an answer from SeaRay US:

Jan, the if you are talking about the forward EIM that is under your Dash, this was part # 1718630 has changed to 1810624.
If it's the aft EIM in your bilge, you must order 1846566.

If you got the correct EIM, try turning the power off and back on to see if everything works. You need to make sure you have the constant hot and the switched out wires correct on the EIM and the ground.

It's possible that the EIM might have shorted out the switch pad and you might have to replace it. Maybe the dealer has one that they will let you plug up to yours to see if that might be the problem.

Hope this helps.

Hmmmm, not sure what to make out of this? Surtenly dident answer my question. Only gave me 2 new numbers for the front EIM. I now have a total number of 5 EIM front part nr. And still doesent know which to use for my switch pads :smt013

Guess first thing to do now is to check the signal wiring to see for signal connection between EIM and switchpads. But the two pads use seperate wires, so strange if the same fault is on both switchpads.
I'm still thinking compatibility problem between new EIM and old switchpads :smt021

Tested cables and everything around, without any faults.

Borrowed 2 switch pads from another sundancer with PN: 1606581 and 1718618. Both worked fine in my boat. So finely I can say that the problems are both switch pads.
But all the PN on switch pads I could find was not possible to order any longer.

Mailed http://www.digitalswitchingsystems.com/index.aspx, and they told me that they don’t repair any old pads, or sell them direct. You have to contact dealer.
And the new replacements now were: L/H: 1810625 and R/H: 1810626.

http://www.searay-parts.com/ also replied that they don’t sell them; you have to contact Sea Ray dealership.

Contacted 2 dealers in US to order, but no email returned  So ordered from local dealer her in Norway. And finely they got a match in the lists of valid PN on the 1810625 and 1810626.
Price: $395 and $458...:smt013 Earlier experience from ordering electronics from US, my guess is around $200-230 local in US?

Pads on their way, no id if they work. Will be back with more info when tested.

Jahoo, finely everything works like a charm.

Units in my boat now:
AFT EIM: 1447606 (original from 2003)
FORE EIM: 1810624
L/H pad: 1810625
R/H pad: 1810626

for that much money I`d look to by-passing the unit with a switch(s) and some copper wire.

That’s a lot of switches. And not looking original.

One DIY solution I considered was to yank out all interior in the EIM units. And put in uniprint-bord with hold relays and automatic fuses to stand under the original fuse caps in the front. (You can probably reuse the fuses in the EIM unit.)
And open the keypads to put a uniprint-bord in with micro switches. And run 1 cable for each switch down to the modified EIM. (keypads are sealed/filled. So I guess a dirty job to clear out to accommodate the uniprint.)

That will give the original look. But not the auto park on the wipers etc. (But no problem buying an auto park unit and solder in to the uniprint in the modified EIM.

But that’s time-consuming. My guess was at least 20hrs. So I put in less overtime then that at work instead to finance new units.

I am facing the same issue. Anyone know about getting an EIM repaired? Or know a source ? Searay advises changing both the key pad and the EIM because you can't know which one has failed...any input?

A repair or refurb service would be nice. The issue is that the new EIM and old switch pads don't work together. You have to replace both. I have isolated my issue to the aft EIM however since the blower is on the left switch pad and windless, nav lights, etc. are on the right, means you have to replace both switch pads and both EIMs.
