Hello to all.
We're new to this site and just wanted to say hello.
My name is Troy and the brains of this team is Bridgette my wife :smt021

Anyway we just purchased our first Searay. It's a nice 1997 Signature 190 with 170 hours ( White & Teal ) Powered by the 5.7 Mercury & Alpha One powerplant. She's in great shape I think. Being new at this boater's life I was hoping for some history on our new toy. Please reply with any advice for this newbie.
Thanks,
Troy & Bridgette

Welcome to the board. You will want to add your boat information to your signature (year, model, motor, etc). Again welcome to the club.

Welcome Troy and Bridgette "Brains".
Is your boat the BR(Bow rider) or OV(Overnighter). The 190 is a great fit for that powerplant. It should perform very well if she's been maintained properly. I owned a '95 220OV and and '99 230OV. The '95 had a 5.7 Carb'd and the '99 had a 5.7EFI. The Efi really made a nice combo but either way was a great ride.
Congrats on the boat and have fun.

Like Wesley said, throw all of that info in your signature, so we know what you have.

a 190 with a 5.7! NICE Bet that will haul the mail! One day I want to get for my sons and I a similar boat. Small with plenty of :smt013:smt013s.

Go to Searay.com and click around. You will find old brochures, owners manuals and a lot of other useful things for your boat that you may not have!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
What a great package. My signature 190 is perfect. Plenty of room and she slices through the water just like butter in a teflon pan. Can anyone advise me on locating a cockpit cover. ( 1997 Searay 190 Bowrider)

Thanks again :smt038

Start with Great Lakes Boat Top -- they are the Sea Ray OEM for canvas.

what the hell... that joke came up on another thread as well. Something is wrong?!?!

Also post your location--where you boat (fresh or salt water, etc) will influence some of the answers you get regarding maintenance questions. For example-I keep my 03 420 Sundancer in fresh water. My maintenance requirements are very different from the requirements for guys running 420DAs (or any boat for that matter) in salt water. Bottom cleaning, frequency of zinc changes in the engines and generator, maintenance regimen on the raw water cooling side of the engines, etc. are all very different between salt and fresh water boats.

Welcome.
