My 330EC Upgrades and installs over the past year

I have been meaning to get to this post for a while now. After reading Xplicitlnck's "Spring Upgrades" thread I decided to buckle down and get this done. I have a few pictures I'll add below. Here is the list and current projects that are under way.

1. Moved the TV from the galley to an RV retractable arm near the stairs which makes it easy to watch from the master berth and the couch.
2. Removed the old small microwave and added a much larger, updated unit that is close to the same wattage.
3. Completely removed the cabin floor carpet and replaced with engineered hardwood and added a teak cabin table.
4. Changed out every cabin and cockpit bulb and/or fixture with LED
5. Upgraded the stereo to a new Clarion M303 and changed out the speakers to JL Audio.
6. Got rid of the old cracked helm dash panels with new FP Marine reproductions and added all new switches and back-lighting.
7. Currently working on my new stairs. After years of fighting the dirt I built solid hardwood stairs this spring. Almost done.
8. New Garmin 1040xs Chartplotter and NMEA 2000 backbone.
9. New large cockpit refrigerator to replace icemaker.
10. Popcorn Hour Media server with 2tb drive and Sirius XM Radio.
11. Built a bar in the space where the old tv was.

Welp, that's it for now but I am sure I will do more. Just can't stop tinkering.

All looks really good! Interested to know about your retractable TV arm please. We are weighing up options for our cockpit TV. Can you post the make and model number of it please? Thx!

Absolutely. It's a MAX-Q TVC-3200 LCD TV Bracket Ceiling Mount Flat Panel. Got it from American RV Company online. It really helped free up space and in its new position we can see it from every place in the cabin. Here it is when swung down. It has more than one position and can be turned on axis depending on mounting.

Very very nice. Excellent work. Pictures of everything else please. I need more ideas. If ya want you can build a second set of stairs and freight em over!

I c u have the big white piece out at the helm (at your right knee) did searay leave out the screws that were behind the helm seat on yours as well and not caulk around the back that couldn't be reached without removing the helm seat? They did on mine and I just said to myself how lasey lol

Thanks, LOL, the stairs were not as easy as I thought. Basically I used the OEM stair structures and made new treads and facings. With the wood work, staining and 4 coats of poly I have about three weeks of on and off labor. It was enjoyable though. If you do it let me know and I can help you out. I have a lot of project pics and ideas on brackets etc.

My side piece had all of the screws, but when I needed to get in there I had to make a tool to get the screws out without removing the seat. I bent the end of an old Philips head screwdriver and I have to very slowly turn out the screws. Its not fun. Yes, Sea Ray never bothered to caulk it, but I do when I put that side piece back in place.

Thanks very much Scott! That looks really good too! Do I take it that the actual stand can be removed completely when not in use then leaving the sink clear with no upright pole? That's a great idea if so. We don't really want to leave the TV outside all the time and some of the mounts seem as if they would be a PITA to keep taking off the back of the TV. Thx again!

Thanks Mike will check it out. We keep vacillating about what style for the cockpit. It looks very versatile for different angles. Is the TV a PITA to take off it? We are not keen on leaving it outside all the time. Thx!

Well, we never had the intention of removing it seeing its in the cabin. The TV would be removed by four screws if it needed to be taken off. However, it would be a simple matter to rig the holes to be slotted so the TV could be lifted off the mount. I think for you it will come down to where you want it. If I was to rig an outside / inside set-up I would probably go with a pedestal mount with a removable set-up like what was posted earlier. I am not sure of standard TV's life span in the outdoors so we opted for the cabin only, that and when the kids are on deck they are forced to actually enjoy the outdoors lol.

Thx! This is just a TV to use outside now and then, sports etc., so will need to be able to take it off quite easily. Thx for all the info!

Thx Scott I think that's just what we need too. Do you mind sharing where you got it from please?

Thx again really appreciate it! Brenda

I got mine from flounder aka searay-parts.com

Thanks for the tip will take a look! How easy is it to detach the TV from the stand please? Assume you have to keep unscrewing the plate......? We were hoping to find something that would not be too difficult to attach and move the TV in the cabin when we leave,
