Until recently a friend of mine was the front of house sound engineer for Joe B...Many greats mentioned. There is so much great music and great solos, just cannot be one, or even just a few, as that would leave deserving artists out.
I can tell you this, not much coming from the 2000's on.
One exception, Joe Bonamassa...
If you do not know him, look him up, opened for BB King at age 12.

Same here, love Rush. Didn’t want to sound critical of the cover, they did do well even though Rush is a particularly tough act to follow. No matter how great the guitar solo, the absence of Neil Peart is felt.Yeah, it was a pretty clinical cover, but it's really tough to trump those guys. I'm a huge Rush fan, so any covers of theirs gets my hackles up a bit.
