Moving in next week - Pompano Beach

So the moving van is arriving mid-week. I'm wondering if any of the Pompano-knowledgeable folks we have here on this board can answer a question for me.

When I lived in Southern California, you could drive by the Home Depot in the morning and there'd be tons of folks out there looking for day-work.

Do they have that in South Florida also or am I going to have to hire legit workers to come to my house and charge and arm and leg to move some boxes in?

I'd do it all myself, but for a few items I'll need help, and I figure if I get help for the few awkward/heavy items, I might as well keep it there to make the job go faster...

Thanks for any advice,
Tim

Hey Tim - not sure about day laborers in Florida but when we moved we used emove.com which allows you to hire movers for the day/hour. We had 3 guys show up and we had estimated 6 hours and they had it done it 4 and we were only charged for actuals. You are probably only looking at about 250-300 for the day depending on how much stuff you need help with. The best news is they carry their own insurance, etc. When you go to the site you will usually get a couple of quotes along with reviews. Good luck.
