Hi Peter, are you still up for building your own davits?

//Pete

I am thinking now Pete..
Don't know what the offer from Todd do for my, because I have to order it in the UK, and have to send it to me in the Netherlands.
Also I like to make things myself.
And I am planning to win the contest, but first we have to think what contest we decide on.

Man,
I hope this applies to my system I bought in December. I put the davit system on a Saturday and left for the Bahamas on Sunday. You can take this as an endorsement, The only things that have gone wrong in this davit system is ME! I did not attach the dinghy properly to my 340DA and it took one of the #$%^ searay medallions rought out from my swim platform (guess where I am spending money). Of course when that happened I was in 3 footers and as I looked back my dink kept getting smaller.

I crossed the gulf stream and little bahama bank in extrememly choppy water with no problems (I tied to the through hull U-bolts).

The other problem I had, was not properly putting a forward spring line on my boat. It was fine for the first 3 days as the winds were from the SE. The morning (4:00AM) the winds shifted, the swim platform ended up UNDER the ladder. The ladder broke, but the only problem I had with the davit system is the the rivets popped that hold the protective plastic covering. Tomorrow I go to buy the rivets, and I should be back in business.

Todd,

I don't know if you remember, but I made it. We are here at Marsh Harbor. Thank you so much for your lengthy advice on the dinks. I bought an 05 model of a west marine hypolon and stuck a 8HP Yamaha 2-stroke. About 150lbs total. Everything has held up great even in the bad weather we have had. :smt038

Thanks for the offer. I just placed an order for your Davit with the 6" mount. That seemed like the right choice for my 60" Dingy and my 33" platform on the 320DA.

NOTE:
I did not see the comment box on the order form so I was not able to supply my user name and number as you requested.
I have a receipt for $849.95 + Shipping.

Regards - Fred

Todd,
I sent an email to sales@hurleymarine.com with the information you requested, and my receipt number.

Weaver Davit System

I have a 370 Dancer and reviewed many types of mounts. I decided to go with the weaver system and have no regrets. My davits are offset 4"down and 4" out and removable from the platform. This is a sweet system.

Ajones, I like your system and Weaver is recommending the 4†extended davits for my boat. I have two questions for you.

1- I see you have the engine mounted. My understanding is that the standard glue-on davit system is not intended to support the dingy and motor in the vertical position. (Weaver suggests their Arc system for this application.) Does your install work well with the engine mounted?
2- Your engine is tilted while in the vertical position. Does this require any special mounting brackets?

Thanks

weaver davits

I installed this system last year with the glue on pads from Weaver and they held up just fine. I had no problens throughout the year and expect to continue with them this year. The mounting bracket for the dingy mounts directly on the transom of the dingy by thru bolting it on. The bracket is a tilt style so the engine will tilt with the boat. It is a real slick system.
I started out last year without a system and after the first trip I sold the old boat & motor and purchased everything new. I am quite pleased with the ease of this system and would recomend the same to others.

Hi all, I have a 95 370 dancer and very interested in the Hurley system.I hope maybe someone could help me out,my boat is 2 hrs away and under shrink, does anyone happen to have the measurement of the platform depth?I'd like to order the system before the spring and any help would be appreciated.
P.S. great info and comments really helps the decission making process.Thankyou.

Cruiser,
My boat is down the street and covered as well. My owners manuals are onboard. I will venture to the boat this weekend and get that measurment for you unless someone else can come up with it between now and then.
