Mounting Dinghy system

Ken, can you tell me (in % or in inch) on which length on the davit platform (40") the pivot point is?

The pivot point is 22" from the trailing edge, 18" from the rounded front (towards the transom). If you hold the pivot point in your hands, the weight bias is slightly to the trailing edge.

Ok thanks Ken, (I need so much info because I have to make it myself)

Ok so if I got it right C = 22" D = 18" and C is little heavier.
Can you tell me maybe also the A, B and E sizes??

Peter

Good job, Peter. The measurements are correct.

Also, the "E" measurement will rise up to about 3 1/2" on each side. The "A" loop will be about 10" long. The "B" loop will be about 19" long. The straight run between A and B will be 8 1/2". I use the word "about", because there are bends involved. There also is the little trailing edge of about 2 1/2".

I suppose if you are making this yourself out of starboard. you can cut it to match exactly the form of your dinghy.

-Ken

Hello Ken I think I got all the sizes now!

I already adjust the sizes a little bit so it match the form of my Dinghy more. (I make G size smaller thanks for the tip)

I think I make the Dinghy Davids also from light weight aluminum white powder coated, and stainless steel fasteners and hardware allowing.

Thanks for your quick responce

I show you the result.

Peter

We had some post on SRO about Dinghy davits/carrying systems

I have the plan to make the system that is in the photos.

Does somebody have this system?

And if you got it, does it work fine?

Anybody have tips how to mount etc.?

Thanks Peter.
Who sells the one in picture, in the first message?

We, Hurley Marine.com originally came up with the design in 2002. Nautley has plagiarized our design, however, years back after research and development (R&D), we opted not to use plastic as it doesn't have the strength nor durability and distorts in the heat.

Ha Todd,

I could have noticed this on your last name..... Hurley :smt021
Yes, I also noticed that Nautley didn't continue with the plastic product.

You can also read in my post that I have a plan to make the Dinghy Davits also from light weight aluminium white powder coated, and stainless steel fasteners and hardware allowing.
This also because I thought the plastic material is not good enough.

I hope you aren't dislike it too much that I have a plan to make it myself.

Or you have to make a special Csr member deal, and send it to the Netherlands

Its OK with me if you put together a deal for the CSR members. I just don't want people blatantly advertising on here because that gets out of control quickly. We have a "Links" section where you can put a link to youour product along with a 1 or 2 sentence description of your deal. You are certainly welcomed to put your info along with the special to CSR members there: http://www.byowneryachts.com/subdreamer/index.php?categoryid=4

Since this thread is about your products and you've been so helpful I think its appropriate that you can put your special here too.

Thanks Jim, for your clear and helpful quick (35 min.!!!!) reply :smt038

That's why we can always ask this kind of things that we are not sure about.

Come on Todd with your offer!!

Peter

Looking forward for an good offer as well, give us your best shot Todd :smt038

Boater4life, Would your system work on a 300DA?

Platform from 300DA is 36" so estimated that you don't take a dinghy wider than 60".
Than the figure = 60/2+4=34"
Than you can go with the • 0 - 2" for the 6" Mount.

No problem, because probably you will take a dinghy smaller than 60"

Succes Peter.

I may be interested in purchasing this system for my 300SD.
Also am wondering if the very nice young lady (Miss Michigan) on the Hurley web site will accept an invitation for a boat ride.

I'm sure she has had many invites. It's about 1 in 10 that ask the same thing. I hope we get a chance to do a swim suit Davit video edtion this year.

As far as offers go, I would like to offer this forum a Hurley Davit or Hurley Trim Tab Light system for a contest or promo of some sort first. I appreicate their effort in this forum and am happy to come back to a Sea Ray group.

So lets come up with something so you all can have a chance to win and maybe attract more members.

Maybe an nice idea..

Somebody take some photos from parts of different Searay type's and engines.
We place them on Csr in a post.
Than the members have to guess what this part is and from what kind of Searay.

Just an idea...
