Hello everyone I recently bought a 2002 480 Motor Yacht, I want to replace the small TV which is located in the Video cabinet. I want to move the TV above the Video cabinet and mount it on the wall. I have seen numerous picture of boats on Yacht World with the setup. I'll probably go with either a 32 or 39 inch LED flat screen. Before I start drilling into the boat has anyone done this? I appreciate all responses.

I put in a 32" Samsung smart TV in the same space as the existing TV. On my boat, there's a huge hole behind the TV where the cables go behind the cabinet, so it prevented me from raising the TV any higher as I didn't have any way to patch it. There was an old Bose system installed in the cabinet. It didn't have any HDMI inputs/outputs so it wasn't easily usable with the TV I purchased. I ripped out the old wiring, you need to pull out the two seats next to the cabinet to gain full access to the old wiring. I wired the existing Bose speakers to an older stereo receiver I had that supports HDMI in & out. You have two A/C units behind this sofa as well. I originally thought there was only one. The second is part of the helm unit in a split system setup.

I also pulled out the TV's in both staterooms. The one in the master was too large to get up the stairs and had to be disassembled first. I installed a Samsung smart TV (I think 28") in the master and a Samsung 19" in the guest. Both are attached to a swing-able TV mount screwed into the side of the cabinet. The both tuck back into their respective cabinet when not in use. The 19" was not a smart TV so I purchased a smart DVD for it.

I ran HDMI & ethernet cables from the behind the salon cabinet to the master stateroom cabinet. If you take out the main stairs (just 4-5 screws) its easy peasy.
