Watched the videos again this AM. Man your knees are right on top of the last rear cylinder header pipes right at their hottest point. Only a thin shield that seems to be added in the second video. Yikes.

He made the heat resistant tiles out of ceramic gas fireplace coals. I thought that was genius. NASA wouldn’t sell him any used ceramic tiles from the space shuttle. Ha ha.

This is my current ride my k1200LT is parked this one is a little lighter.

This was my last one. I had too many friends killed in Florida on them. The last straw was my neighbor getting his leg ripped off near the hip and his arm at the elbow. A minivan crossed the center lane on a two laner. Survived and remembered everything about the wreck. I moved while he was in rehab and he relocated back to New Jersey. Lost track of him.
I had plenty of near misses and so that and me having nerve issues in my right arm and hand made the decision to give up 50+ years of riding.
Busted collar bone and shoulder dislocation was the worst for me. That was on a dirt bike. Fastest was my ZX14. Clocked 173 on it. It had more, I didn't.... Lack of aero was making everything blurry so that was it.

I don't ride, but I appreciate a nice bike. Here is one my brother built. Turned an old Honda into a sharp cafe racer.

He has some pretty amazing talent for sure. That was his first bike build. He has basically rebuilt his Audi S4 twin turbo v6 into a screaming banshee of a road car with about 800hp (so far). I have driven it and its INSANE. He's taken it to Bonneville and hit 175mph. He is about 80% through a rebuild of a Fiat X1/9 that will have an Audi 5cyl, and also an Audi S1 Quattro that will have the better part of 1000hp when done. Its his passion to build and fabricate.
