This year I’ve installed led strip lighting in the air intakes on the sides of the hull.

Awesome! How did you route the wiring through the vents? I was thinking of something similar on my 340 vents.

Are those lights and strips dimmable? Mood lighting is generally muted and soft.

Yes, the inside cockpit lighting is on a dimmer. Everything else, no.

    Hi Kevin,

When I installed the underwater lights I used two fuse blocks each wired to its own relay, both panels operate by one switch. The switch is low amps, it operates only the relays. The relays power up the vent lights and the underwater lights. The wire from the vents run to each fuse block, they draw 1.5 amps each side. Very difficult to get to the starboard vent, but got it done. Port side was easy. Drilled a 1/4” hole and snaked wire 16/2 tin copper trough it to the fuse block. Split Wire loomed across the ceiling of the engine compartment.

Thanks for the info, I've been having problems finding LED bulbs for my NAV lights.

Where did you mount the dimmer switch?

My spoiler lights had a built in dimmer, if you don’t have a built in dimmer it’s easy enough to install one. You’ll need the correct dimmer and a new Carling rocker switch. Both can be purchased on Ebay or some other site.

You don't have to go through all of the trouble of building dimmers/ Lumitec makes lights with built in dimmers that work by cycling the power switch. Multi color options as well and there not that expensive. I have the blue/white in my arch.
