Month Long Cruise PCB - Key West - 340

The 15th works perfect for us to do Dry Tortugas. My cruise speed is the same as yours and range looks the same too. I will be taking extra fuel just in case it gets rough.

Left Marco Island - A crew member showed me that his bosses garage is bigger than my boat
Some more beautiful homes along water
Sleepy town on the River SE of Marco Island Marina
The pass to shallow seas
Wide open seas, pretty water
Sighting our first Key
Following a large blow boater under the bridge
Some scenery
The little marina and key
Our boat
The spit outside the harbour
Some sunset shots (more tomorrow)

I'll call you tomorrow am.

Let's try to do this. Depending on weather, we would plan to leave KW late morning on the 15th or very early on the 16th (I have to report in to my job that I'll be available for training 30 days after June 15th).

Someone has a problem, they turn back single - someone has an emergency - we stick together. Does that sound about right?

We've been sitting on the bow for about 1/2 hour. We each saw shooting stars. I saw a small one followed in trail by a large one about 20 degrees behind it in the sky. They were the same speed, same direction, and lasted about the same amount of time. They were fast, so separated by maybe .01 seconds or so.

The stars go to the horizon in all directions except toward Key West. The big dipper is lost in a sea of other, unrecognizable constellations and stars.

I just read through this for the first time. What a trip you two are having. We are enjoying seeing the pics of a part of the US we'll probably never boat in. Thanks for all the pics you've posted. Makes us feel the warm breezes and sunshine!

Me too! Looks like you two are having a blast. Have fun and keep the pictures coming. Brian

Makrolon - slightly flex, don't know thickness, and good ventilation on center panel.

Strataglass - 30mm

Thanks! Your trip is one I am planning on doing when I retire, except I will be going down the Atlantic side. I would like to go to the keys and then come back up on the Gulf side one day. (perhaps cut back to the Atlantic side via Lake Okee and the locks)

I am guessing from your answer above the three front sections over the windshield are Makrolon, and the two sides are the Strataglass? I am only interested in doing these five panels, as the rest of my camper canvas is good and has just been re-modified.

Do you remember the name of the something _303 product you coated the seams with to stop them from leaking?

(I found it here from one of your much earlier postings, 303 Fabric Protector)

Have fun on Duval Street at these places, and believe it or not, the drag cabaret show at club 801 is bit entertaining, as well as going up to the top of the Bull "Garden of Eden" (clothing optional) and watching some of the folks who pull off all of their clothes and dance naked. Some should probably just leave their clothes on.

I've got a bridle on mine Gary, thanks to your post last year!! John...be careful in all those waves, they must be at least 1/2" to 1" right?

The sand right here isn't very deep in some spots. I didn't want my anchor to drag, so I through out one of my stern anchors and am using two.

The area behind our boat is Bohia Honda Key. There is an RV park, a small marina, some offices, nice beaches, and a park.

Front 5 - Makrolon. Back end - Strataglass.

Given the opportunity, I'll make 3 - 5 more panels on the back makrolon: 2 triangles (definately), center back - probably, aft-most side pieces - maybe. We rarely take any of those down (right now, 3 of them are down).

Hal - thanks for the words! Jay will be heading out to the island this weekend to beat the oil rush. This is great!

:smt038:smt038:smt038 John, thank you for your report and the beautiful pics!! I am just so envious you cannot image!! There's no way of enjoing such a long and relaxing cruise here in my country...not mentioning the fact my boat is still on the hard...

John, I don't know for sure but you look really stressed out in this picture! What luck to be able to take this type of a trip in those beautiful waters! Have fun...

Got up early, got on the dinghy, and went to the key for a walk in the park. Then, back on the dinghy for some exploring on the North side of the bridge. The water, sand, and mangroves we found were incredible!

So, some sunset pics and morning journeys.

Nice, I am sure there is a time for the cliche' of "more fun then the law should allow," not really. We know you have sufficient sun block, but after 30 days, what a tan you two will probably have.

Is that an inflatable hull dinghy or fiber glass rigid bottom? I am thinking of getting rid of my BossPro 10foot 4 inch all fiberglass, with 25 HP Yamaha and trailer and going to an inflatable, stow-able something similar to yours.

What length is your dinghy?

As vacations go so far yours seems to be a very good one.

CSR Naked Mrs. Hampton photo pool

Every time John posts a photo of his wife she is wearing fewer cloths than in the previous photo.

At this pace I think the first nude photo will be posted next Wednesday.

Other dates are still up for grabs in the “CSR Naked Mrs. Hampton photo pool.”
