I was planning a trip from St. Paul to TI. I'm hoping I can get some opinions/experience's doing this. I have a 200BR. Is this to small of a boat for that stretch of the river? Does anyone know what the Treasure Island marina is like and what they charge for an overnight?

TI is great., $25 for the night and they have wifi and access to pool at hotel. I was there on July 4th, current was very strong in the marina.

Thanks for the info Kevin. I'm going to get a room at the hotel. My concern was mostly for the river traffic. I traveled from Red Wing to Hudson a few times in my 18' Larson and it got a bit scary at times with the larger boats but I decided to take a couple days off work and do this during the week. I'll be trading up in a couple years and I really like the mid 80's 268's :smt001, I think that's about the biggest my truck can tow.

One nice thing about river travel during the week, the larger pleasure boat traffic is less frequent and often the channel is smooth as glass.

The mighty Miss is far less choppy then the St Croix. But it's dirty as hell so hopefully you don't have to get in it to pee.

It's a nice trip, easy going, Just make sure you stay at least 10 feet inside of buoy as there is a lot of debris and the buoy seem to hook a lot. I saw a B*****er take out a drive last w/e going too close to a buoy in an attempt to pass me.
