Mississippi flooding at Burlington, Iowa

The floodwaters here in Iowa are going down, but the Mississippi is still at record or near record levels.

Some of my friends have boats at this marina just north of Burlington, Iowa. You can only get there by boat these days. The 'authorities' recommend not going out on the river because of the faster than normal current, and all the debris in the water. Not to mention the increased levels of pollution.

One picture is of the 'yard', the other shows some of the slips. The trees towards the river grows on the breakwater that normally separates the marina from the river.

The flooding in Burlington is not the devastating stuff that they had in Cedar Rapids., but it is still a problem for the community.

Hope those spuds hold / held the docks in place....back in '93 our marina welded 4 ft extensions.
