Would overheating cause a boat to miss out and quit? My boat was running a little warm. About 190 and then it misses and backfires a little. Then it quits and won't start for a while.

A temp of 190 isn't warm enough to hurt the engine, but is potentially warmer than all of the surroundings were designed for. Therefore, it could be vapor lock in the fuel supply, which would definately cause it to miss, stall, and stop, then restart after it cools down and the vapor lock clears. Or, it could be that other problems are leading to the engine running hot, but unlikely.

Start with getting the running temp in line with specs, whether that is impeller, thermostat, or other.
