Mini Scuba Tanks

That's what this thread is about right? Going under the boat in an emergency and not for actual diving a reef etc.

I kind of agree on the tether thing, but have gone under so many times, I am at the point of getting a diver to do it. The last time I went under, the boat heaved so bad my arm had trouble forcing me down out of the way, I wasn't ready for the heave. That was the end on me doing that. Getting hit in the head by the hull is almost certain death.

The issue is unless your arm is fully extended and you have enough depth so your not touching the bottom, then your ok. That wasn't that situation and I just wasn't ready for the heave. Some ya hoo was throwing a wake where he shouldn't have been and took me by surprise.
I'm boiling just thinking about this!

We were in the Abacos and my 400 Sundancer's port shaft seal started leaking pretty bad. I threw on a mask, weight belt and fins and jumped in to see what the heck was going on....
There had to be 200 feet of fishing line wrapped all the way up the shaft. I tried to find an end and get it started off but what a mess. It had to be 200 pound test - I couldn't break it with my hands. Back up - put on some gloves and the wire nippers and back down. I probably had to come up for air twenty times before I made any headway but eventually got it unraveled. That line was all the way up and into the seal. To this day I don't know how it happened. Anyhow that took me probably two hours snorkeling to get it off the boat. Then into the engine room to change the shaft seal. What a day - one G&T and lights out. I now always have a full scuba tank on board with 50 feet of hose to the second stage reg when we go on trips.

I’ve got one of those hand pumps for filling a PCP air rifle. Good medicine for backyard Little Bastards (red squirrels)!!

It’s a MAJOR workout, and tank on rifle is MUCH smaller.

I lasted about 8-10 refills on rifle over about 6 months and told my wife to get me a compressor for Christmas!!
