Microwave Question

Microwave light comes on so I believe its getting power, but the unit doesn't cook!

Is it shot and needing replacing or am I missing something?

Are you running on shore power, generator or battery? When you say the "the light comes on" -- what do you mean? Do you enter a cooking time, hit start, the inside light comes on but no cooking?

Microwave is a Samsung MW620WA. On this model, when you set the time, the microwave comes on automatically (light and oven).

However, on my unit, the oven no longer kicks on (used to)...only the light comes on.

Does the fan run? Does it have a turntable and does that turn?

If it appears to be operating (as described above) then the Magnetron could be bad. With the low cost of new Microwaves, you may just want to replace it.
