Microwave/Convection Oven Replacement-44DB

The turntable in my OEM Tappan Microwave/Convection oven has died and I need to replace the unit. We love the thing as it is so versatile. Wish I could replace with like Tappan unit, but I believe they are out of business.

Anybody replaced one in a 420/44DB?

I think there is a small belt from the motor to the turntable, and it (or a substitute) might still be available.

A friend redid a home unit, bought part online. It was a weird motor...Ithought he said 21VAC.? There was an access hatch on the bottom.

I'm cheap, i wouldn't give up on it yet.

If you can get the model number off the unit, try repairclinic.com for replacement parts. They used to have an online chat function, and I've used them for some non-marine appliance parts.

Thank you guys! As it was on its way out, it sounded like it was gear driven and the gears were stripped. If there is access, it from the bottom of the unit and I have not removed it yet.

May try to remove it next weekend. Looks like I need to pull the refrigerator as it looks like the microwave is attached through the bottom.

The other part of me says it is 12 years old and I will continue working on it. The older I get, the more I want to just enjoy the boat and work on it when I want to work on it....if that makes any sense.
