I know this message could be in the great lakes section but I wanted to post it here because the great lakes section only seems to get comments from the big boats. Maybe we could keep the message here for a few days then move it.

Michigan has a lot of great places to boat and I would like to hear from other sport boaters.

For example - we get a slip at the Grand Haven city marina for a few days ($24 night). From there you can run to lake michigan, Holland, Saugatuck etc or if the lake is rough you have Spring lake to play in. The marina is downtown and walking distance to great food and drink. The slips can be reserved on line.

Thanks Mike

Ya, it needs to be moved. We don't want to hear about all y'all cool boating like that up there when we're just excited to have water in our stock tanks we call lakes.

A bunch of people I know, mostly Crownline owners, just did the annual "Loop Cruise" in Chicago. I get to live vicariously through the 38279 pictures taken everywhere from the big water to coming in to Chicago, to locking through, to downtown Chicago pics from the water........I could go on and on. It would be absolutely incredible to have boating like that! Y'all are lucky!

Yes Jim but you can't boat in the winter like you can in Texas. Then there is the matter of the big waves on the great lakes. :smt021

But I agree Michigan is a great boating state. There are a lot of nice inland lakes up there as well. I just don't like waiting out all the snow and ice to enjoy them. That's why I moved south.

That Chicago loop does look like fun. I'm thinking about crossing the big lake this summer if I can get another boat to go with me. My friend who has a 42' Four Winns has offered to follow me but he needs to cruise at 28 where I need to go at 35mph.

And you are right about the cold. I have not been in yet and was hoping for Memorial day which is forecasted for 70 degrees.
