Michigan Man in Wheelchair Pinned to Grille of Semitrailer f

Wow, what a ride to live to tell about! I guess the bearings in those little wheels are overrated for their normal daily use, thankfully.

I listened to the audio. I'll tell you, that last girl that called and I think witnessed the event, (Jen?) she needs to get a grip! I certainly hope that in a similiar situation no one I know would act so ridiculous. Where are you?: I don't know. What's the description?: I don't know, maybe white. What direction was it headed?: I don't know, thataway. Sheesh, for the benefit of the poor guy in front of the truck, take a breath, clear your head and speak intelligently! :smt013

Personally I have been in a several “intense situations†during my life. One with a drunk / drugged out person with a gun. Its been my past pattern that I stay calm during the actual emergency, talking, acting and thinking clearly and swiftly, then, after its all said and done and the danger time is past I get extremely upset and angry. Its just how I am wired I guess.

Based only on my personal experience, most bystanders to an emergency tend to freeze-up and stay quiet and still like a deer in the headlights.

In my job, I have been in a few tense situations. Not life threatening, but big economic/career threatening.

What I have learned is that if "lightening quick" response is needed -> you are probably already too late to salvage the situation. Your probability of success goes up dramatically if can take 60 seconds to think before acting decisively.

I have learned that initial information is often incorrect.

In the case above when asked "Does he have a gun?"

Wife said "No"

Later - Wife "Well, he has a .30-30."
