Miami Boat Show 2014

Miami was a kick but it is nice to be home. Thanks for everything Matt and Rusty! No I need to download my pictures and post some...

I agree with the 510 Fly. The layout was nice and I liked it better than the 510DA (layout). The 650 is a real nice boat with some nice new features. I'll resize my pictures and get some posted here after a bit. My favorite is still the soon to be extinct 580DA!

I tried to find you Rusty but, on Thursday the Convention center booth babes weren't aware of your name and Friday on the 510 all we found were Cummins reps. Maybe next time.

Thanks for stopping by to see me Doc......you too Brian, great thrill for me, big time. Boatguy too bro!!!

Hello everyone,

Is anyone going to the Miami 2014 Boat Show? I'm going to look at some models and I would love the opportunity to finally meet some of you.

Mike

Hey Mike,

We are at the Boat Show every year. We supply Sea Ray with the majority of their Light Fixtures for new boat construction. Check out some of our new products like the Rail Light, LED Engine and many more.

I would like to say that I'm sorry for missing everyone at the show. The potential redesign I was looking for was rumored to initially be at the show, but wasn't ready. Therefore, I stayed back in the snow. Hope everyone had a great time and hope to have a chance to see/meet everyone soon.

Btw, I'm loving the new designs.

All the best,
Mike

You should have went to the Collins Avenue Sea Ray display where Rusty was! The 510 Fly at Sea Isle Marina was there with the Cummins rep not Sea Ray. Mercury also had a 350DA with Axius that we went out on for about at least 30 minutes.

I can see the prestige exhibit in the background of a few photos of the 650,has anyone wandered over there? If you run into John Sima tell him Glen Ledingham said hi,he was the broker for my new to me 370 in ohio and just picked up the prestige line in northern usa.I am just curious how well the europeans stack up,these have been around for 20+ years over there.

I looked long and hard at the Prestige 500 fly and was very impressed. Everything including the integrated hydraulic swim platform and Volvo IPS 600's for around the $900K mark. Even had a crew cabin in the back with AC and head. Full beam master, upper and lower helms, quoted 1 mpg at cruise. Not sure of it's long term quality but the rep says Prestige is made by the same people who make Lagoon sail boats and others which I have seen hold up well in charter. I tried to see the SR's on Collins and it was a zoo. I caught the 510 SR fly on the docks at Sea Isle Marina but I was not allowed on as they were doing Cummins trials with other people.

Most impressive thought were the models in black dresses showing off the Sunseeker's....

I know a lot of you don't like the look of the new Sea Rays but someone does. They sold 14 L650 Flys during the show, this is what I was told by my local Sea Ray rep.

The materials, fit and finish of that Prestige was lacking. The carpet looked like the lowest grade in a production house. It did have a few decent features but not nearly as nice as the Sea Ray 510 Fly.

SR told me back in the fall all of their 2014 hulls were spoken for, so that seems to back up what you said. I was also told the 650 is a direct response to customer requests. Also, when I toured the Palm Coast factory in the fall the 510 Fly and DA dominated the lines. With the 350 not far behind. (That's what I saw when I was there).

At the Ft Lauderdale show Matt from SR said they are working on the re-design for everything over 50'. Ie: the 540/580. 450/470 are apparently on the boards for next year.

I thought this forum required mandatory photographs. I am very disappointed in this thread so far. Where are all of the boat porn photos??

Here are a few random ones from the Sea Ray dock.
