I am on the hunt for a TR outdrive. I recently bought the boat, and we've repowered it witha JAsper 330HP 454ci motor. And every little thing else like the manifolds, risers, hoses, starter, fuel pump, hot water heater, and converted to electronci ignition. $7800 is work so far.

Thne they clean the barnacles and slime off the outdrive, and the pitting is so bad, there are spots were it is almost clear through the housing. Rub your hand over it, and white chalk dusts off. Nearly $10K more to put in a Bravo drive. I'd like to find a good TR to install and wait until the next year to get a new outdrive. I just can't come up with that kind of spare cash this fast, ya know? :)

Any TR's out there, or places I can look? I've been hitting eBay, and google, and such. These things are dried up it seems.

TR Drive ???

Gotta say I am not sure what a TR drive is either!

When you say the Bravo drive is $10K, it sounds like you are getting a price for a Bravo III (dual props). The Bravo III have some issues with corrosion and are complicated to have them worked on. I personally like the Bravo I because it is simple, heavy duty and very reliable. Our last boat had one and the current boat has a Bravo II, which has also been trouble free. You might want to investigate getting one of these from a good mail order place new and installing it yourself?

Mike,

Since you got the engines from Jasper, did you check to see if they have the drive?

I'm pretty familiar with the Jasper Marine products if you have any questions. But you still have me on the TR?

are you talking about a trs drive? in this case this will not work with your application. those drives were used previous to the bravo drives and require a transmisssion to run it. no gear change in the drive itself..... ]
jasper drives are available and are just a costly, they do come with an 18 month warranty on parts and labor and the core charge is like for like, which means if you at least have a drive to give back to them, they care less what shape it is in

thanks
