I have a 2000-2001 29' sundancer with twin 5.0/ bravo 2 and I cannot locate the inline fuse for the MerCathode controller. Either the mechanic did not connect it to the batteries and the wire to the battery is laying in the bilge or Searay tapped the wires into the 12 volt system at another location or I need a new set of glasses.

Mine are attached to the battery lugs. They are very small, and when the boot is around the lug on top of the battery, you can hardly see them. I do not see why they couldn't be tapped in somewhere else, but should be relatively easy to find, because it would have to be on a line that is still hot when your battery switch is off.

Well today I checked the battery connections but could not find the elusive inline fuse, does anyone have a suggestion as to the locatation of this fuse ?

I just looked at Searays DC wiring schematic and after several hours of tracing wires it appears that Searay has powered the MecCathode system from the Main DC Breaker Panel thru a 20 amp breaker which appears to be labeled "accessory". I'm not sure this "Breaker" is "live" when the battery switches are turned off as the MerCathode controller needs to be "live" at all times to protect the boat. I'm assuming that the only method to verify that the controlled is receiving power is to use a 12 volt test light across the positive and negative terminals at the controller. As anyone had any experience testing the Mercathode controller to confirm it is receiving power ?
