An old guy’s tribute.

As Memorial Day is fast approaching here, I think this weekend we should remember those who fought to protect and serve this nation, and, unfortunately, who are no longer with us.

And , while I have the floor.

I'm briskly approaching retirement age; I have a wife, two fur babies, a mortgage, and a 401K. I think I know what is important and what isn’t; love, responsibility, being there for family and friends, clean air, clean water, corn fed beef, Kentucky whiskey, California red wine, an old growth forest, the wind over a mountain pass at 10,000 feet, rock and roll, and Sea Ray boats. And, of course, being out on the water on a beautiful sunny day!

All of the above reminds me of the importance of Memorial Day and those who served , so I can enjoy being on our boat, or, riding my motorcycle; Chevy trucks, camp fires, flame broiled rib eye steaks, Stevie Ray Vaughan, or even a Jim Beam Black or two.

And, finally to those who really made a difference to me:
John F.
Dick K.
Fred C.
Phil L.
Mike W.
I miss you guys, thank you for your friendship, your service, and for allowing me to boat, fish, and spend time with you and our families together, RIP.
