Meds Thread

OH OH OH!!!
We found this weekend on Pluto, free tv, an app from xfinity. CH 549. The Blue Bloods channel. 24/7.
Funny how Blueone / Blue Bloods both have Blue in name. Must be some DNA ancestry connection.
So, bringing this back around to meds, is Blue Bloods your version of the "little blue pill"? Are they actually blue?

Statin
Lisinopril

Lotta high blood pressure around here. And high cholesterol.

I have seen some studies that concluded that high cholesterol is not necessarily a predictor of heart disease/blockage. I have had borderline to high cholesterol for years, to the extent that my cardiologist was 100% sure that I would need 4 stents after my heart attack. I got 0 and had 0% blockage. Could be good genetics or the studies are right.

When I went thru my shit show thanksgiving for AFib….. they scoped my heart and arteries for blockage …before the paddle shock… $60k ….just crazy…and zero issues

I'm not taking the time to write pages long story but I'm of the opinion that some problems that I've developed are likely caused by medication that I didn't need in the first place. Cholesterol statin drugs and high blood pressure drug but I never had high cholesterol according to tests or high blood pressure.

I have white coat anxiety in a doctors office, so my BP is always high. At home, relaxed, it's 125/70. I am tempted to go off of the Metoprolol.

"White coat syndrome, or white coat hypertension, is the term for when you get a high blood pressure reading in a doctor's office and a normal reading at home. The anxiety of being around doctors in white coats can make your blood pressure rise. Most people don't need treatment if their blood pressure is normal at home"

I do have white coat hypertension. BUT I used to get readings of 180/100 at home and resting. It's a gift from my Dad.

I have to look and see how much they charged me. But, I did have a heart attack, so the cath was a necessity to determine why. Wasn't blockage.

Did you ever get a video of you being paddled?

Same here, after HA in 2010, they ran the camera thru me, found no blockage. They never did determine what caused it.

No… nurses are whimps…. The doctor just laughed…. Total for those two visits … 8 days total…including the shittyest food on the planet was $150k
I had great food when I went in for my cardiac cath. Well except I was on a sodium restricted diet even after the cath showed no heart disease. I asked for a bag of Sun Chips with lunch and they told me I could have 6 chips.

Same with me in 09 . I was all clear. A couple years later the whole Darvocet thing came out. I believe that had me all out of rhythm. I was taking it like candy a few years earlier due to an injury. I probably should have pursued that more looking back.

Ha! I lived on orange juice and milk for 3 days in there. No way was eating Cheerios, no sugar, skim milk. On way home we got me a huge Gyro. Was gone in 5 mins.
