I need a mechanical survey done to a boat with gas engines and out-drive in the San Francisco Delta area.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Randy Sharpe (Sharpe's Surveying) out of Alameda would be worth a try. His web site areas include the "California Delta". Don't use him if you need a 'Three Blind Mice" survey for insurance purposes. He will find every single thing and you will have a long "to-do" list. I have used him twice, and he has been stellar both times.

Thanks for the recommendation. Does he do hull survey or mechanical?
Randy Sharpe is a regular hull and systems guy he will look at bonding and hose routing, operation, and visual condition of engine systems and generator. He is not a mechanical surveyor. In fact, I became so frustrated by the engine mechanics willing to charge me a kings ransom(and take zero responsibilities their findings), I finally decided it was more efficient (and cheaper) to buy my own Rinda scanner, and get my own oil surveys done. I did pay a Marine Mechanic to go on the Sea Trial, just for another set of eyes and ears.
