I bought my bought last in Florida and brought it over to Germany. After Using it for 1 year I thought it would be a good idea to remove the drives, check alignment, and renew the rubber gaiters (is that the correct word for it?:smt101) Now I faced the problem that the previous owner has put theses Mcgards. He did not gave me any key. Is there any way to remove the drives w/o destroying anything? Who can help?

Gaiters? I believe you're refering to the rubber, accordian-looking things between the transom and the drive? Those are "bellows hoses".

Unfortunately I don't know of an easy way to get them off - which is a good thing.

Just gotta cut them off. Try using a cut-off tool/disc. The smaller the better - like a "Dremel". You can split it lengthwise. You'll need another nut to replace - like the one that's on the other studs.

Sorry for my bad English, but yes I mean the rubber or bellows hoses. I learned something today txs.
The bad thing is, that I really would need to remove this drive locks in a brutal way, isn't it :smt009

Be careful not to damage the threads of the studs. But, yes, there is no "pretty" way to do it.

When I bought the boat, the previous owner, gave me some boxes with spare and maintenance parts. It might be, that it is in there. But have no clue how the tool or key looks like. Is it a tool or a key? Can somebody provide a pic of what I need to remove it this drive lock in the proper way?

I have these on my stern drives they came with a card in case you loose the key - see if the card is with the paperwork you received or contact the PO - as I was putting them on I thought about how much it would suck if you had to try to remove them without the key - they are very durable - as a last resort I know McGuard only used a few different keys, maybe one of mine would work - try to send a close up picture - good luck!
