Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are relatively new to boating and have just bought a 2008 290 Sundancer (31" with twin mercruiser MPI Bravo III drives). Frustratingly we seem to be having problems with the PSI warning on the smartcraft system.

The first time we had a faulty sensor on the starboard engine (which we had to replace), and now we have exactly the same problem (which I suspect again is the sensor) on the port engine. All the engine oil fluid levels are good (engine oil, gear lube etc) and the engines only have 85 hours on them anyway !

Looking on various forums, this seems to be an on-going issue with the MPI drives, and apart from continuously and regularly replacing the sensors and checking the impellers (and potentially replacing every 2 years) I am looking for any ideas of how to manage this. The smartcraft system is great, but when I was younger, you just checked the fluids and the coolant and went !

Thanks in advance.
Regards
Matthew

Welcome to CSR. I do not know the answer to your question, but will offer some advice to help you. Always title your new thread according to your problem or need.
A good title for this post would have been "Trouble with PSI warning on the smartcraft system"
Also, only post your question in one place. Posting in two places is not needed.
Good liuck with your 290.
