Hey CSR Captains, first off Merry Christmas, Ho Ho Ho!
I need to replace my tv antenna on the 370DA, what is your opinion/experience with what to buy...looking for a saucer type like in the pic, only want the best for the Admiral.

Thank you

I tried them all, I have a Shakespeare in my garage right now that I put on the boat and it did not work at all, will sell it one day.
The only one I found to work is Glomex ( 11" shark ) with the booster.
On my boat I hook up 3 T.V. and the radio to the antenna and can use them all at the same time with no problems at all.
Install this one and you are done.

Glomex works well and they have good customer service. I have heard of people sending in the old ones for repair and getting a new one as a replacement.

I have the large Shakespeare. I installed it last year and it works. I get 88 channels but we are close to a large city. I really think the key is installing shielded rg6 cable and properly terminating the connections. I did have a glomex and it worked fine until everything went to digital. The new glomex units seem to get good reviews.

I have a couple of the glomex antennas and love them.

The Glomex seems to work well. However, it's all about line of sight here so a good antenna mounted low may not perform as well as a bad antenna mounted higher. Also since all OTA TV is digital make sure your connections are clean and secure on the COAX cable. Depending on your TV and where you travel you may need to re-scan to pickup different channels as they go in and out of range.

I also have the Large Shakespeare and pull in 60ish digital channels on to 4 televisions. Some are duplicate Networks as I pull signals from Cleveland, Toledo & Detroit. Also, when I upgraded TVs last year is when we started pulling in 60ish channels. Before that, we maybe pulled in 20 or so. I believe that it has something to do with the built in tuner on the television. We did not change the antenna. But what the hell do I know?! I apparently put the toilet paper roll on backwards!

I have no complaints w/ the antenna.

We installed a Large Shakespeare. In Canada BC we get 1 channel when in open areas in some places in Washington we have got 52 across from Seattle. Some areas in Washington we get none. As noted by others it is line of site. It drops in and out depending where the boat drifts on anchor. The antenna has a booster.

+1 on the Glomex.

I just a new kvh system installed but wanted a local reception for when I was out of the "home" area.

Installer said not to consider anything but Glomex for the application. My last two boats had a Glomex.

I've had a glomax and now have a digital yacht. Both work about the same

Congratulations.

Good luck.
