How do you keep Marine growth off of outdrives. My bottom paint is working very well however my out drives are just covered in marine growth. Do I put bottom paint on the outdrives

Todd

I put mine in trailer mode once in a while when I'm swimming and go it them with a scrubby brush.

When I get the bottom painted this spring I might have them hit the outdrives as well if I don't replace them.

I paint our drives with Hydrocoat ECO. It does not have copper or other metals so it's safe for running gear. Does an awesome job of keeping the growth down

i use trilux - as said above, make sure there are no metals in the paint you choose - and I find the brush on works WAY better than the spray cans

I use toliet bowl cleaner on Mercury outboards. Look like brand new!

Not to hijack hit his tread but related: what do you use to clean props. Boat has been kept in fresh water and props are covered with what looks like dried algae. FYI I don't want to take the props off to do this (DA 280)

Sand in the shallow

If out of the water, a stainless wire brush chucked in a drill works well. I also use a oscillating multi tool with a scraper for heavier stuff.
