Marinas near Richmond, VA (James River)

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I did a night at Salt Ponds last year, and it seemed to be well located and decently maintained. One advantage there is the lack of personal property taxes in Hampton - the yearly savings would pretty much cover the slip fees. But again, I'm looking at several years at least before I can consider upgrading.

I'm on the hard at JP getting some repairs done. I shall be slipping mext to Jay in a couple of months.

As soon as it warms up, and not blowing a gale I'll take a ride up. Why the move off the Chick?

Not getting the use I wanted from the boat. House and work commitments were piling up. SBH allowed me to get out even if only for an hour or two, or even to just piddle. Plus, folks weren't leaving the Chic. It was like going to the gravel pits but having to drive my car longer to get there.

I've always liked the the anchorage at the power lines. This brings mea tad closer.

I like stopping at JP. They seem to be a really nice and a great staff. Couple of boats from Jamestown have to go there to be pulled and painted. Our travel lift isn't rated for their size boats. I will be up this spring, I hope there's nothing bad wrong with your boat, I would hate being on the hard right now. Winter is bad enough, but not to have the boat to go to and hide...might kill me
