I have no personal experience other than going to the restuarant (Anne's) for breakfast a few times. Anne's was closed for about two years, but recently re-opened, under new ownership and new name. Haven't been there yet...

Anyway, Frank C (FC3) keeps Just Ducky at Wehrlen's, and as I remember, he had some good things to say about the marina.

Anyone out there familiar with docking at Wehrlen Bros Marina (now known as Sunset Point Marina) on the Metekunk River in Brick, NJ. Good, Bad, indifferent, etc. I am currently exploring my options for 2008 and this marina is in my current area. Please help! Thanks in advance to anyone adding their 2 cents.

I guess you have had enough Dave? Folks at OBM said they have gotten a number of calls this fall from folks from the former WYB.

dave: wehrlen's is a pretty nice place. i actually bought my boat from their dealership (blue water yacht sales). they have a pool and some slips have "park-behind-your-boat" capabilities. only problem i see there is that it is right out there on the river, and, despite no-wake buoys about 300 yards off the marina, you will rock-n-roll. we pass it on the way out and in, and i wont throttle up til i pass them. heading back in, i always use that marina as my slow-down point (give the folks at wehrlen's a break) but no one else really bothers.

i wasnt aware they had changed the name. it was for sale last summer - rumor had it at $10mil. i've heard the new restaurant is VERY pricey and quite a bit more upscale than anne's place.

anyone ever hear from old "just ducky?"

The former WYB? Is that Winter Yacht Basin? Have they changed hands? I had my puffer there one winter, but found the yard rules overly restrictive. I got quotes for winterization / yard work for my Sea Ray, but it amounted to "we are going to spend a bunch of hours on your boat, and charge accordingly".

Yes, Winters Yacht Basin Inc was purchased by Hinckley Yachts in May of this year. Lots of changes are happening. Current dockholders are getting anxious in light of the "new" rates that were recently published. This marina also is maintaining the highest fuel dock prices in the area.

Wow. And I didn't think they were exactly "low rate" before. . . .
I have been putting up my sailboat in the adjacent Beatons yard. Not swank. . .but full of classic puffers.
