Unlike the poor slob who experienced this disasterous marina name change (just kidding :smt043), we appear to have been upgraded at our marina.

I picked up the 2009 version of the local Chesapeake Bay guide book that they give away free at all of the local marinas and restaurants on Friday. Everyone showed up at the marina on Saturday, but nobody went out for long as we had 25-30kt gusts blowing straight up the Bay. We all sat around the docks eating, drinking, and socializing. At some point in the afternoon I was sitting on the boat perusing the guide book when lo and behold, I spotted it. An add for our marina listed under its new name. We have been "promoted" from "Bill's Boats" to drumroll, please....."Bill's Yacht Basin"....

Whoo hooo!!! :smt038 :smt043

At any rate, the whole lot of us cornered one of the owners on a pier, and "suggested" that he not raise the rent given that he had moved the entire marina to "the other side of the tracks". He said that they were gonna triple next year....

I feel blessed. As I left on Sunday I removed all of the beer from the boat. The admiral will be off to the store today restocking us with wine, cheese, and Grey Poupon. I guess I have to go down and pick out my new Mercedes this evening, and tomorrow I'll be off to Marine Max to pick up a 63DB. I plan on keeping the 260DA around to use as my new dinghy.

On second thought, I think I might have to go visit my buddy Doug in Wisconsin. His boat got repo'd but he still goes down to the repot center quite often to hang out with it until it finds a new owner. He's pretty familiar with the other repo'd boats there and might be able to help me find my 63DB for pennies on the dollar.
