Marina Etiquette Tips

There is zero reason for dog poop on the docks. I mean come on, how hard is it to kick the turd into the water??
They r kicking them in the water , but they are not washing the shit off the dock. I have a dog, so there is no doubt if he was to shit on the dock it needs scrubbed off. Experienced here.

We have the potty pad on the boat. Works great but this little guys has little #$&

Our little guy was trained on the potty pad…. But then turned on it…. He would stand on it but on purpose would poo off it…. We had to go to grass… he turned into a fake turf snob…. That’s when we gave him to our daughter…. Never get a dog without a backup plan to get rid of it :)…and dont let cute fool you..the little bugger is probably peeing in that photo as he stares at you

Was totally joking BTW. Just what I need, to kick to a turd into the water, have some on my shoe and then walk onto my boat. Gross.

Our guy uses the artificial turf pad on the boat. We trained him on it when he was 6 weeks old and have one at home in the garage, as consistency was the key to get him use to it. Where we are, there are so many mosquitos at night, it is nice to just let him do his thing without having to go up to the grass (which is where most of the mosquitos are).

You must have slobs in your marina. There are plenty of dogs at mine. I also own one. Poop bag dispensers at the entrance of every "wharf" for those that might forget to bring their own. No problems that I have seen. Way better than in my sub. View attachment 118801
One problem boat. Either on pier or in grass at parking lot. Hate to say anything because they do keep an eye on our boats 24/7. I just don’t walk barefoot at marina.
But still, dog shat in middle of the pier. Cmon man.

- Return dock carts to their proper location when finished using.
Bringing up this 15 year old post to vent a bit and tell you about my holiday weekend. Our little basin has a total of 3 dock carts for 30 slips. If everyone is considerate, this ratio works well enough to get items on and off the boats efficiently. When we returned from our long weekend, I went naturally to the gate where the carts are stored and found nothing was available. Looking around I saw one other family unloading their boat. I asked if I could have their cart when they were finished and told me they had several loads and that one of the other tenants had two carts on the side of his boat. I found the offending tenant who appeared to be in the process of a house battery swap but was no where to be found. Both carts were full of new batteries, unattended. Not wanting to cause a scene, I waited for the other cart. Turns out this guy left the batteries in the carts for hours while he was in the hull of his boat.

So to be precise: Dock carts are for the transportation of items. They are not for storage. Once you have used the cart to transport your items, return it for others to use.
