Just wondering if any of the members with MAN engines have had issues with the LCD displays blacking out. I have emailed MAN direct to see if reconditioning is available. If not it sounds like ours will need to be replaced with new ones at a ridiculous price.

Thanks!
Paul

I have not had any issues with the displays. Once in a while, an alarm, but that is it.

Ken,

Just make sure you keep them protected from the sun as good as possible. The replacement cost like a lot of MAN parts is excessive.

I had issues with both of mine a couple of years ago. They did not go blank but started to report engine hours of 42000 or more. Working with my servicing dealer and MAN directly, I was able to get replacements for no charge. As I recall, they are around $6,000 each.

On the 58, they are just below the hard top. Luckily they get no direct sun there.
