Trying to figure out a way to make a template of my gauge panel to make an upgraded woodgrain panel without having to remove all the gauges, which sounds scary. 1990 350 Sundancer.

Could be tough to get accurate.
Maybe try putting some spacer blocks on the existing panel to hold the material you’re making the template out of flat and out away from the existing protruding gauges.
Might work okay if you use thicker construction paper or lightweight cardboard for the template.
Overall, you’re still better off pulling out the old panel and using it as a template.
Just use some painters tape or similar tape to Mark all the wires for the gauges as you disconnect them. Bundling wires from individual gauges together should make it pretty easy. Great time to check all of those 30 year old connectors too!
