Where is the best place to put in around Marble head and the surrounding area to go to Kelleys island and where is there good over night dockage.

Howdy,
There are a number of ODNR launch ramps. Dempsy's and Majurzik (not sure of the spelling). Look them up on the ODNR watercraft pages. Portside is my favorite place to stay since it is right downtown. They monitor channel 68. If they are full, you can always call Seaway. You can also take your car and boat over on the ferry and launch at the state park north end if the weather is bad but this weekend will be perfect. PM me if you need more info. We dock around the corner from the Marblehead light so I know the area fairly well.

Closest to Kelley's Island would be Mazurik's. (Dempsey launch is in Sandusky Bay.) Another option is West Harbor ramp on Rt 53 - Catawba Island (right before the new Marine Max location). The West Harbor ramp is pretty steep - not a gradual slope. It puts you in West Harbor and to get to the lake you need to go out the cut past Anchor's Aweigh Marina or under the bridge and out past Gem Beach Marina.
Yep these guys nailed it... port side is nice but can get rough and is tight to maneuver... yep feel free to pm me for any info as well!
