Doing maintenance on my boat. Everything done except I looked in my Service Manual and it shows the locations to lubricate the steering system on my Alpha w/power steering. Looks easy in the manual. However, I can't see them, let alone get near them. They are directly behind my engines which take up the width of my boat, and are not accessable from above because the hatch only lifts so far. I don't even know if a small child will fit back there. Anyone with a similar boat or circumstances, please chime in. :smt100

Good question - I was wondering how to lubricate the shift cable and the steering cable also.

Are you able to lay on the engine and reach over or around? Sometimes you really have to be a contortionist on these boats and just go by feel. Or, maybe take a riser off? Other times, it's worth it to pay someone, you know?

perhaps a dumb idea, but...Motorcycle clutch cables are a bugger to lube. you can get a device that will puncture the cable housing, and pump grease into the cable itself. can be bought at local harley dealer, and unlike everything else h-d sells, isn't that expensive.
