My display on my lowrance 3500 depth sounder has gone bad. I would like to replace that unit with a similar unit because my stereo controls are right next to the display and look the same. I need suggestions as to what I can replace this unit with that will use the same size hole and either the same transducer or one that will fit where the current transducer is.

Lowrance used a unique frequency for the transducer on the 3500 depth sounder that is no longer used by anyone. They have also completely dropped support for the 3500, no repairs, no parts, etc. The good news is that at least the diameter of the hole is a standard size. I had a similar issue with the 3500. It was flanked by the stereo remote on one side and the drive trim on the other. In our case there was room for the Raymarine St40 depth gauge even though it is a rectangle.

You didn't mention what other electronics you have. Many multi function, chartplotter, radar displays support displaying depth data as well. Depending on the size and type, you might consider going with something that matches your other hardware and then you might not need to add anything to your dashboard.

Thanks. I also have a raytheon L365 fish finder but the display on that one is also going bad. I am trying at this time to not spend to much on replacements and would like a similar look. I will look at the BOE site.
