Lowrance 3500 replacement on 1997 searay 210

LD…thanks for the info…I found the switch…lo and behold it works…well, it displays. Now to get her on the water and see if it reads !
Thanks again everyone

21degree deadrise on a 21ft boat is fantastic. There are larger boats here in Florida that don’t have that. One of the reasons I like SR’s.

I’m happy with the performance of it…gets on plane quick and the ride is smooth and stable.

Welcome.

The beep you get when you turn the key is the engine alarm telling you it's working.

Most of the time the depth finder has its own toggle switch look around on the dash for a switch for a sounder or depth sounder.

Enjoy..... report back
Hey LD…there is a toggle for the depth finder…thanks. It turns the unit on but it flashes zero…when in the water of course. Is it the transducer that craps out or the in dash unit’s brain box? I know the 3500 is obsolete and I’m trying to find a replacement…not sure which direction to go..
Steve.

Yes it's dead...... Time to replace.

If your display isn't blacked out someone might buy it to replace their display.

I know this doesn't help much but I found a picture of the new unit. I know when they fitted the thru hull they had to use/make a threaded spacer to use the same hole from the OEM unit so it looks like it's always been there. It does fit the same hole in the dash so no modifications there. They do come in different face colors and even have some with chrome trim which I would have preferred but the boat needed to get int he water so I'm just happy with a working depth sounder.
