So new to us boat 95 500DA. Being on board a week bringing it around the mitten of MI has us seeing some issues.
We had great water pressure for about two days then nothing. Well I mean it runs but not a lot. Did not see this in the numerous Times I visited or during survey. The pump seems to run forever and only way I get it to stop is to turn on all faucets down below[ 3 sinks) then slowly turn each off. They all spit a bit like air in line then go back to the slow flow.
I also noticed the water heater no longer is heating but have not dug in to that beyond no hot water at the sink taps. What should I be checking here first?

For starters, turn the water heater off until/unless you know it's full without any air in it. Check the small filter/strainer on the out-side of the fresh water pump and the in/supply line and clamps from the tank to the pump.
Sounds like your sucking air before the pump and a possible blockage after the pump. Don't forget the aerators/screens at each faucet.

Dumb question, are you sure there is plenty of water in the tank.
At first I thought this as my old bot would do that near empty. It might be a blockage somewhere as this started after I was trying to flush the tank and refil. We put about 3/4 full and filled a second time on our 5 day trip.
I’m going to check those screens again on the tank. Seems like there were two. One looked like it fed the the Vacuflush with fresh water and other going to the pressure pump.

Do you have full pressure when hooked to shore water supply? Could just be that the pump is just reached it’s end.
Sounds like your having about an average experience with a new to you boat. Get used to your list growing. It’s amazing what you will find that pops up out of nowhere even on what looks to be a well cared for boat.
Enjoy your new venture.

I just bought a boat that hasn’t been used much in the last few years, the freshwater pump worked perfectly for two days then the pressure switch Just abruptly quit working properly. New pump installed yesterday.

I’ll try that. So if I do have full pressure with shore water, then what does that mean? Pump bad or blockage somewhere?

I would think it means bad pump. Do you not have 2 pumps, we do.
Yes I believe so. There is one in the engine room port side of engine and there is the one under cabin floor hatch where the sump box is and lines from the water tank go to.

Both of ours are by shower sump. We do not have one in engine room, not sure why there would be one in ER, since water tank is forward of shower sump.

I’m going to snap some pics this week and share. I might be part of the confusion as I know what I’m talking about but don’t explain it very well LOL

So I am thinking it was a clog somewhere?
After removing some lines it all seems to work now.
On to the next projects?

Wanting to upgrade the lights in the bilge with some super right LEDs. Wondering if it would be easier to just grab new fixture than to get new bulbs?
