I recently installed a 1.6 cubic ft. dorm frig in my cockpit galley....it is AC power only....cost was around $100 and then I spent another $35 or so on making the starboard trim piece.....

we run the genny while we cruise and while we anchor to float behind the boat so the frig stays powered at all times by either shore power at the dock or genny power underway....if we camp over night and shut the genny down we move the drinks to the cabin frig which is dual powered (AC and DC) or to the Engel cooler....

I have it installed so that the bottom of the slam latches on the galley doors just touch the top of the frig door when the galley doors are closed....this insures the frig door will not open unexpectedly while the boat is underway.....

just thought I would share this lower cost option than installing a dual powered frig that cost several hundred $$......

when I bought the boat it did not have anything in the space....i'm not sure if this boat came with an ice maker or a frig.....both were available options....

but to answer your question, yes this is where an ice maker would have been installed...I used a roll out cooler until recently....
