This boat is the coolest thing ever, but WOW do I have alot to learn!!!

1) When the main battery switches (the round ones in the port/aft compartment) are turned off, does the battery charger still charge the batteries if plugged into shore power? I winterized my boat last weekend and did not turn these switches off - did I make a mistake and should I go back to the lake to turn them off?

2) Also, my slip does not have 30A power installed YET...however, there is 15A service. Has anyone used one of those little adapters to allow the 30A shore power cord to plug into 15A outlet?

I cannot thank all of you enough for your replies!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 290 is a great boat...my signature pic was taken at Norris Lake.

The battery charger will charge with the switch in the off position...you are fine.

Never done it....15A may not run your A/C this summer but an adapter may work in the meantime to keep your batteries charged.

When, I had my 260 I could run my boat off 15Amp except for the hot water heater. Otherwise it would trip a the breaker on the dock. It should be fine for a battery charger.

You will be ok if you made sure to toggle the AC converter switch in the cabin ON.
If the switch is turned off the batteries will not charge.
I used the adapter on my 250 when I would pull the boat out and prep it for a vacation in the drive way. I would load up the fridge and run AC from the house making sure my pops were cold and the batteries were topped off.

Daave, I almost grew up on Norris Lake. Good to have you here. If i can be of help just yell.
