Lost my hero yesterday

Joe, I'm so sorry to hear this. Our hearts go to you and your family.

Thank you for sharing a great story of your live. What a role model you have. I have no doubts that your hero will be present forever in your hearts and in your minds.

RIP.

Our most heart felt condolences Joe. You had him as a teacher, a friend and a confidant all these years. You are truly blessed to have such a great guy around you all these years and look how he has shaped your life and the family's lives.

I lost my rock when he was only 56 in 1997 he had so much more to teach me. It never gets easier, but it doesn't hurt as bad all day long, just at times. I'm with you brother!

Joe deepest thoughts and sympathy for you and your family. Remember the great man it sounds like your dad was and be the best you can for your family.

Joe, you didn't lose a hero, he's just not in your lives every day like he has been. Now he's in your memories every day, and those are great memories you hold.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers it means a lot.

I lost my father when I was in my 20's before I made up my mind to grow up. It doesn't get any easier living with the loss but we just learn to cope with it better.
I'm sorry for your loss, truly. But it seems that you have a lot of great memories and a hero you can always look to for comfort and strength. My prayers will be for you and your family through this time.

Our thoughts and prayers Joe. My dad passed away 2 years ago. He was a welder/fitter too. I will always remember him with his hood on , chasing us kids out of the garage while telling us not to look at the light. LOL.

Enjoy the memories!

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad 5 years ago and in many ways if feels like yesterday. When I did and shared it here with all of the members, someone said "When you lose your Father you become a Man". In many ways that feels true, as we don't have them to share and bounce ideas off of or get the advice that keeps us straight. Cherish the memories you have and live your life to honor him. He sounds like a Great man!

Condolences.

Thinking of you Joe......tonight amongst many on the 650, I will stand at the helm and raise my glass to your Father. With Irish heritage running through me and a soldier's uniform still hanging in the closet, I will consider it my duty and my honor to salute him.....thinking of you Joe, and hope to see you again soon brother.

Wow! what a response. Thank you again everyone. This is the only forum I belong to and having known some of you or not you feel like an extended family (creepy internet friends ) someone wrote once . So its natural to share with you what's effecting our lives so that's what I did and I'm grateful for the nice response.
