Some of that floating debris is hard to see on the surface, as bad as the just below surface floaters. Hope that boater there got home safe.

My son and I were at the dock Wednesday night and he hauled lines in for a returning family. They heard a bang, felt a thump, etc. Took on some water, guy checked his oil and said there was water in there as well. When they pulled the boat onto trailer, top 2-3 inches of the prop blades were bent at 90 degrees. He hit something that was very hard... Said he couldn't determine what it was.

When I had a 20' bowrider I struck a submerged "something". The lower unit flipped up then back down as we passed over it. Things seemed to work fine until we got back to the ramp. The lower unit hydraulics that raise the unit were inop. We ended up having to lift it then tie it up with dock lines.

Crossing Lake Erie a few weeks back, I passed a floating lava rock the size of a boulder. Gotta be up there for the oddest thing I’ve seen. Explaining to the insurance company you hit a boulder in 30ft of water would be interesting
