So I was driving the boat to the marina this weekend (to get the bellows and gimbal bearing done) cruising at about 3000rpm and I went to apply a bit more power and noticed the boat jolted for a second due to an issue with the engine. It seemed like i lost power so I instantly let off the throttle a bit and the boat just continued working again normally.

I slowed all the way down and the applied full throttle and played around a bit going faster and slower to see if i could duplicate the issue. It didn't happen...

Any ideas what this loss of power could have been?

Could have been a bit of water in the gas? If you have a fuel water separator filter, take it off and dump the contents into a jar and see if there is water in it. If you don't have a water separator fuel filter, consider installing one. They are cheap and help keep your carb stay water free even if you get a bit of water in the gas.

Thanks. I do know there is a fuel filter but i am not sure if that's the same as a fuel/water filter. It was changed a year ago. Mentioned this to the marina and will let them investigate...
