Any information regarding the 36 sedan bridge would be appreciated. My husband and I have gone from 2007 300 dancer . We have only been boating since last April. We truly love boating and am looking forward to doing alot of this. We mainly wanted more room in the salon and separate shower. Thanks!:smt100

I just wish I had the money to be able to consider a 300-340-36 trade up all within less than a year!

There are a couple of posts here that talk about the 36. Do a search for them.

I'm sure the Bridge boaters will way in with good advice for you, however given the moves you've made so quickly I wonder if you should consider something larger. Maybe a 480?

Re: Surprised by members attitudes!

Our 300 dancer that we purchased in April 07,
had problems with the generator not working and several other issues. We have a dog that goes boating with us, our dealer helped get us out of that deal and we upgraded to a 340 dancer. Being new to boating, you don't always know what you like or what you want. With the interest rates being what they are, and boat sales being down, we got a deal we couldn't refuse.

...I am disappointed that there are so many jealous people on this website. It will make me think twice about Sea Ray boaters and their true compassion for their fellow boaters.

Well, I'm sorry that you see the comments this way. Maybe I'm missing a point here, but there is no intent to demonstrate jalousy nor make negative comments about your situation.....

I personnally went from a 27 feet boat to a 31 feet and then a 37 feet boat in less that 3 years. I had no problems at all with any of these boats and my moves were only justified by what we call the "footitis". Knowing what I know today I would have probably gone from the 27 feet to the 37 feet boat directly, and this is the only thing I wanted to convey here.

PS: I am not jealous of any boaters since I am lucky enough to own a great boat.

I dont think anyone was giving an atittude. We all wish we could be in your shoes trading up for a bigger boat, however, we wouldnt like to have problems with what you've had.

Also, these guys are more than likely to have alot of boating experience. I've done my fair research from all those guys here on the forum and picked out my boat. I have learned alot from them. I hope you will have the same experience. Have you thought about going to the boat show? That way you can spend more time on different models.

Happy Boating and good luck with your search.

We closed on a new 36 Sedan in December, it is sitting in a hanger now getting final rigging and PDI for delivery in the next two weeks or so. We moved up to it from a 320 and made the move for the following reasons:

- wanted a bridge boat
- wanted two staterooms
- wanted a bigger galley
- wanted to shower without having to dry the entire shower
- wanted a newer boat
- wanted a bigger boat
- wanted a bridge boat...and could not afford the 44 Sedan

I was on the boat when it came down from another dealer to my dealer and have sea trialed several and feel like it is an excellent boat as far as interior layout. On the negative side the bridge is a bit cramped but I have also seen similar sized bridge boats with worse bridge layouts also. There definately are better bridge layouts (Meridian)...but we were really turned off by Meridian in the long run (took several out and they were just way way underpowered and there was no option to get bigger engines).

If you can afford diesel then get it, if not this boat is on the line where gas also makes sense. The 8.1s are powerful and the boat handles well at the dock.

Feel free to PM me if you want more information other than what is posted.

Wow, a flamer in the 2d post. Well done. That is the way to make friends and influence people. I really want to share my Sea Ray experience with you now.

Please post a photo immediately of the antenna on your 340. This is a rather secretive test we must apply to newbies, to weed out the ten year olds playing on Daddy's computer on the Internet.

There are plenty of really knowledgeable Sea Ray owners here, willing to give of our free time to help. I have owned Sea Rays since 2004, have about 500 hours of combined 260DA/320DA/420DA helm time......... and I am one of the new guys here.

You actually got some good advice above. Consider a 44 or a 48DB-your progression history indicates a desire for a bigger, more capable platform. I went from a 320 to a 420 and have never regretted the 10' jump. And all mine have been clean used boat purchases at from 60-70% cost compared to new. But I digress.
Need to see the Antenna Picture soonest.

sigh.

Skip the Jealous 420DA Owner
And my Golden Retriever Lance, who boats with us, too, but is not really jealous of your Dog.

wow, glad to see you're all warm and fuzzy Skip. Great way to welcome someone into the group.

OK guys............take a deep breath and chill!

The guy has a right to his opinions........and those of us who do this forum stuff just to help other owners enjoy their Sea Rays to the fullest have the right to sit quitely and do nothing.

and forSkip...my dog is jealous of your dog!

Almost Heaven,
I hope your boat purchase goes well.
I didn't detect the jealousy you did, and this forum is great to bounce your questions around and attain better perspective and opinions. Since you're new to boating you will be better served to ask, listen and not take offense if someone states they wish they were able to purchase 3 boats in a year. I'd take that as a compliment

Ummm... not sure where "jealous" came from???? I didn't read any posts that way at all, but that's your right.

We have always been fans of the bridge boats. We had a 37DB and now have the 480DB.... which we've put over 3000 hours on. Spend some time with your decision with regard to the bridge and the size. Buyers never make money trading, so the group is only trying to help you consider your next move whereas your sales person may be encouraging the next phase of meter disease, aka footitis. Good luck. This site is comprised of some very well-seasoned boaters that have a wealth of experience and knowledge. It would be a shame to miss out on this aid over a few ill interpreted comments.

I'm glad this is finally out in the open as I've got a few things to get off my chest.

I'm jealous of Todd and his stupid pictures of all those mountains and clean water.

I'm jealous because I think Skip's wife makes more money than my wife.

I'm jealous because Frank H. stocks better beer on his boat than I do.

I'm jealous because Frank W. has more diesels in his life than me (esp. that Miata)

I'm jealous because Tim can gunkhole better than me.

I'm jealous because Matt has inflatable palm trees mounted on the front of his boat.

I'm jealous because Jeff has a bigger boat than me.

I'm jealous Dom has secret Raymarine upgrade chips.

I'm jealous of Wesley for being able to modify other people's posts.

The hell with you all... I'm going to find some losers on another forum (maybe a Honda Tuner Car forum) that can't out do me and I won't be jealous of... wait... they'll have cars that won't break down... I'll think of something.

Gary,
Having had our first painful collision with the Federal and State Tax Code in this, my first full year in private industry after my Army career, whatever income delta existed between our wives is in the process of being surrendured completely and totally to my new best friends at the IRS.

There now, see, no jealousy. Now let's work on our compassion for other people! Who's with me!

Skip
will work for diesel fuel.....

Gary...u aren't jealous of me having the luxury to boat 365 days a year?? :)
