hi-

I'm looking for winter storage location in the boston area where I can do my own work. Where are folks storing their boats?

Greetings.

Take a look at Liberty Marina in Danvers. It's right on the Danvers River right off Salem Harbor. Great facility, well protected.

If your going to take the trip to the north shore winter island is public and cheap. It's only $560 for my boat for the winter. Only draw back is you can't pressure wash the bottom. But the price is right and you can do all your own work. I don't know any marinas that will let you or a contractor shrinkwrap.

I took my boat down to townriver. I just looked at Winter Island and noticed that the application forms says no maintenance can be performed while on Winter Island. Is this true?

I spoke with the harbor master on that. He stated maintenance can be performed...they just don't want boats being left on the hard or any spills. What you absolutely can't do is bottom wash. I have my marina doing that before I haul out.
