Does anyone know of a good prop shop that deals in new and used props for the larger sport yachts? Looking to trade in a couple of four bladed nibryl cupped 24/27s for a set of 26/27s
Any info will much appreciated
Thanks

HI Rusty -- this outfit in Chicago I've dealt with before for prop repair and they sell new and will sell used props on consignment. I believe they've got a good reputation. http://airmarineinc.com/

Curious to your direction to change props. I was going to go a similar path.
Currently using 23/25 H cupped and felt that I was under propped. I came across acmes 26/25 ... after reading some posts and further investigation I now feel like those would be overpropped ... do you have any insight on this?

Are you looking for a spare set to repitch? If so I know a guy that has a set from his 420db he wants to sell.

Henrysmith.com in Algonac Michigan is very good at what they do!

Had a bad experience with this company 8yrs ago. They failed to tune the props properly, took what appeared to be a belt sander to the blades, and worst of all after doing all this "work" and charging for it they advised that the props were not fit to use anymore due to pitting weakening the metal + could not be welded/repaired since they were Nibral.
Took them to Wolverine Propellers in Lincoln Michigan for a second opinion. They used propscan which showed how out of pitch they actually were (after being worked) and said they needed to be welded/repaired, repitched, and the sanding marks buffed out. Gave them the go ahead, and their price was less than Smith's and didn't have to be tossed in the trash! Other than some color differences where the pitting was TIG welded they looked like new.
They've been on the boat ever since and operate just fine.

Sorry to hear that, My experience was a good one. Maybe 8 years ago there was a different person taking care of you, I believe his name was Biil, he took me in the back where they work on the props and showed me on the scanner how my props were off and how he was going to fix and balance...all good in the neighborhood!

Thanks, after doing some research and performance tests on my set up, I’ve decided to be satisfied with my props as they are. I may be a tad underpropped but I’m happy knowing I’m not over working my engines.
