My 340SDA has a combined shower/head stall. I am looking to improve the floor and dress this up with something like SeaDek in teak. The shower stall is also horrendously monotone and this will add some color while make the floor more comfortable while showering. I am concern about durability, water retention, draining etc.

Has anyone done this -or- something similar. Just looking for comments at this time.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Looking to do the same I know my buddies 31 dancer has the fake teak floor in his from the factory but I have seen people use custom teak grating which looks really nice there were a few posts on here couple years back not sure if I can find them

Custom teak grating is nice I have seen it on friends boat. Also Infinity would work as it does not absorb water. Probably drape it over something occasionally to promote drying underneath.

I was not interested in the teak grating as I felt it would not be comfortable when showering.

The Infinity is an option but I want something that would remain dry - possibly just a squeegee to or towel wipe to finish. If after a shower the admiral goes into the head and soaks her socks she would not be happy. That's why I was leaning more towards a non-absorbent foam (etc) type product.

How wet does the infinity stay after getting wet? Can it wipe down to dry?

Infinity is a tight PVC weave with blown PVC backing so it does not absorb water (it floats). You can dry the surface with a towel.

I had these guys build us a teak grate for our 320 and honestly it works great. I wouldn't discount the teak grate. It actually dries pretty quickly, very comfortable on the bare feet and its very easy to maintain the floor underneath. Before the grate my kids wouldn't use the head without their shoes on (honestly i used to skeeve it as well). Now the grate stays dry and clean.

You want to make sure that whatever you use won’t become slippery when soaking wet with soap and shampoo on it.
I’ve got the Infinity type stuff in my cockpit and absolutely love it, but I don’t know that it wouldn’t become slippery to stand on when taking a shower.
The teak grate for my shower stall from goodale is on my list of wants. I saw a few boats with the teak grates when I was shopping for this boat and they look really nice.
I like the idea of being able to simply pick it up to clean the shower.
He’s got sample pics on his website.
I spoke with him on the phone a while back (turns out he’s a refuge from LI). You can send him a template and he’ll make it up from there.

I actually don't recall. If you give him a call he should be able to give you a price over the phone. He has quite a few templates for our boats on hand.
