Can anyone tell me where I can find a cockpit table and base for my 89 30' Sundancer? I have searched the forum and other used parts sites with no luck. I want the recessed base that I will cut into the floor/deck. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hardware can be bought from a bunch of sources, its pretty standard. The SR 2x series have leg that is "7" shaped and the table mounts with a horizontal clamp. The top of the & is orientated port<>starboard so any fore/aft tilt can be compensated. Check to see how level you cockpit deck sits when the boat is in the water. If you have a slope the straight table mount may not work as well as a 7 style.

We had the plastic frisbee that comes with many of the SRs and decided we wanted something larger. I ended up making ours and subsequently have made more for friends.

Here are some pix of ours in the workshop showing the hardware:

Since you don't already have a table I would suggest that you try and find out the dimensions of tables supplied for your model year boat design.

Nice job, Henry...real nice!
Curious...why did you feel it necessary to make the table with the grill holes?
Wouldn't rain water just run off due to the tilt anyway?
Also, did you find it not necessary to keep the table round?
Are you able to maneuver around the square shape as well as the round one?

The table is a grate table and is a traditional nautical wood working style. It takes its origins from sailing ship hatch covers that were built the same way to provide ventilation below deck.

Rain water would run off a solid table, but there still would be some risk of puddles causing damage.

We found the round table was too small for 4 people to eat at.

I actually made two prototypes out of plywood to get the size the right balance of table space and cockpit space.

You can get the hardware many places including West Marine and others. Henry has the right idea on the base. I made mine from marine plywood and used laminate (Formica) on the surface of the base and added the mount. RV supply stores also sell a tri-pod base that accepts the standard 2" post.

In the pic below you can see the table base in the lower right corner.

I made that base up from two sheets of 3/4 cabinet plywood for use in the shop, for refinishing the top last fall. Although you might want to make it a little bigger to compensate for effects of motion.
